Our sandstone quarry is situated at Stanwell,
about 25 kilometres west of Rockhampton,
Queensland. Capricorn’s owners have
over 20 years experience in the
sandstone quarrying, manufacturing
industry and previously developed
quarries in NSW and Western
Australia. Our company has been
quarrying at Stanwell since 1994 and
a substantial financial investment has
been directed towards machinery and quarry
development. The sandstone reserve is one of the largest dimensional stone quarries in Australia (about 30 hectares) uniquely producing stones in four different colours. Sandstone has been quarried from Stanwell since the late 1800’s and there are many fine buildings built since the turn of the century which remain a tribute to our stone.
